Half Marathon - 9:30 am
Buses will leave from McPhelemy Park at 8:00 am SHARP.
Cut off time is 2 pm.
This race starts west of town at Cottonwood Lake Campground and winds its way into town through peaking aspen groves. Buses will shuttle runners from McPhelemy Park. Runners will be dropped off at the Campground entrance, and they must walk 1 mile on CR 344 to the Start Line.
After the start, runners will pass by a gorgeous view of Cottonwood Lake, following gravel roads. They will come to the first water station (mile 4). After mile 6, runners will take a right onto CR 306 (West Main Street). Volunteer Safety Flaggers will help you cross CR 306. Watch for vehicles and listen to their instructions to cross this section. Runners will take a left onto CR 340 at the first aid station (mile 6.5) and will be directed around some more gravel roads before coming back out onto CR 306 (West Main Street). They will join the 10K course and will arrive at their second aid station (mile 10.5). Runners will run a slight and continuous decent to the finish line at McPhelemy Park.
The course follows approximately 9 miles of dirt roads and 4 miles of pavement.
There is one water station (mile 4) and two aid stations (mile 6.5 & mile 10.5) along the course. This is a cupless race. Please bring your collapsible cup (part of your runner’s swag!) or water bottles with you for this half marathon race.
Half marathon runners will be able to have a drop bag at the start line. You will be able to carry it with you on the shuttle bus, and then it will be transported back to the start line. You can pick it up from a designated location at McPhelemy Park. Bags should be unique and clearly marked with your name.
Spectators and photographers should park at the Cottonwood Lake parking lot. The views and photographs from along the lake will be amazing.
